Are You Building A List? They’ll Never Buy From You If…

You know it’s crazy to see how much money is being spent on Google Adwords,and time and time again I see folks cranking up bid prices sending traffic to a sales page or presell page with no option for the visitor to leave their details. Now for some folks, all that is important is the sale.

Sadly, direct response marketing (where you require someone to hand you cash on their very first contact with you) requires extremely targeted traffic and a very powerful sales letter which converts at a high rate. It’s a bit like meeting someone in a bar, then asking them to marry you at the end of the night. Human beings just don’t work that way, and they’ll never buy from you if you treat your marketing in the same way.

In other words, it’s far better to build a relationship first… Besides, there’s actually a limit on the amount of targeted, ready to buy traffic that is out there. And to add to that, high converting sales letters don’t come cheap or easy in many cases. So there’s a limit to how much of this “meet in a bar and get engaged before the lights come on” type of marketing you can really do online. To reach more people and make more sales, the smart marketers capture email addresses and build enough trust in their email marketing so that the sales letter doesn’t have to be so super duper and fancy.

And by sending out emails to their subscribers, they also presell (warm up) the prospect…

which means you can target all kinds of folks who initially were NOT ready to buy your stuff, and gradually move them towards buying your stuff over a short period of time. It can be tricky though, and without the right knowledge you could end up wasting time building a list that doesn’t buy from you, or even worse – you could end up struggling to get people on your list in the first place. Just like romantic relationships, email marketing can be a confusing tightrope without the right guidence.

So instead of wasting money, time and energy on traffic that doesn’t buy from you and certainly never comes back, it’s time to start getting people’s details and get your email marketing done the right way. And when you do, you’ll see that you don’t have to continue to spend money on advertising, because your traffic is right there waiting for you! How To Generate Targeted Traffic For Free: 5 Ways To Generate Traffic To Your Website

Turbo Charge Your Traffic Generation

You need traffic! If you have a website, a blog, or a squeeze page, you need visitors to convert into subscribers and buyers for you to be able to make any money online. In today’s post I’m going to share with you some very quick ways of generating targeted traffic to your website. The key to quality targeted traffic is ‘diversification’. You don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket, you want to spread your traffic sources far and wide to see which ones work for you and then focus on those methods; remember, you won’t know unless you try. All methods outlined below are free!

1. Advertising Toolbars

If you are just starting out then the Instant Buzz Toolbar and the Free Traffic Bar are great ways to start getting targeted visitors. As I’ve already written about these in great detail you can find the post for Instant Buzz here and Free Traffic Bar here.

2. Traffic Exchanges

Not everyone likes traffic exchanges. I do! I have had a lot of success using them. The way a traffic exchange works is you look at other people websites and they, in return, look at yours. Try adding a couple of hours into your week for this and you should see an increase in subscribers (if you have a site that is good at converting). The best thing to do is to create a splash page (a simple webpage that is above the fold – no scrolling involved – that grabs people’s attention and on clicking takes the user to your webpage. 

The criticism thrown at Traffic Exchanges is that people surf like zombies and ignore you webpages but if you create a ‘killer’ splash page you will get click-throughs!

3. Forums

To find forums in your niche do a search in Google: “your niche + forum”. You should find quite a few listed.

4. Article Directories

Article directories are amazing for driving targeted traffic to your website. I wrote about this in a previous post that you can read about here.

5. Video Submission Sites

YouTube and other video submission sites are great ways of uploading videos branded with your website address for everyone to see. YouTube also allows you to add your link in the video discription as long as you write it as the first word: example

http://www.gurutrafficsecret.com Discover the best kept traffic generation secret on the web’. 

If you put the link anywhere else in your description it won’t work.

How To Build A Large Double Opt-In List Quickly

Every marketer wants a list of subscribers and in today’s post I’m going to share with you the quickest way to achieve a nice sized double-opt-in list. The following tip does take money to set in motion but the benefits far out-weight the cost involved. Would you spend $1 to earn $2? I know I would, and do!

Before we get started you will need a good email service provider and I recommend Aweber. Aweber has plenty of information on how to set up your new web form to capture the information your require, such as name and email. If you want a walk-through video series on setting up an Aweber account and creating a squeeze page then check-out DavesOnlineVideos. Dave also shows you how to set up a product (e-book) to use as a paid item or you can simply use it as an incentive for someone to subscribe. This is known as an ethical bribe, you are inticing someone to give you their information in return for your report or ebook. You can take a look at a squeeze page and a web form at GuruTrafficSecret.

The tactic I’m sharing with you involves joining list-building sites. The sites I am going to show you are filled with double-opt-in members who are waiting to receive your email. If you think these sites are built around ‘zombie-like’ members who click on your email just to receive email credits or people who skip over everyone elses emails and are only intent on sending their very own promotion then you would be mistaken. I’ll reveal further down my method for getting my email opened so keep reading!

Right, this is how this tactic works. You join the following programs and upgrade your account. *Do not join* unless you have the money to upgrade your account. The following sites usually offer a one-time-offer when you first register as a free member. The upgrade price through a one-time-offer is usually hugely discounted on the normal upgrade price when you are fully registered. The upgrade prices range from $97 to $197. If you cannot upgrade at the present time then wait until you can.

So why should you join and upgrade your account? Well, if you register for the following sites and then ignore the one-time-offer you will have to build your own downline. This means you will have to work extremely hard at referring people into the network and each referral you make will become a member of your downline. You will then have the ability to email your downline (usually once a week for free memberships). Now, just imagine how long it will take you to build up a downline of 5,000 people, or even 20,000 people!

Here are the sites I personally use and they are great for what they are…

ListDotCom – Upgrade and email 5,000 random members every 2 days.

DownlineBuilderDirect – Upgrade and email 20,000 random members every 2 days.

ListQUIK – Upgrade to email 20x more members than free members.

ListJumper – Upgrade to Gold and email every ListJumper member every three days.

Now for the tactic I use and recommend you use to get your email opened. It is true that these sites involve a degree of ‘zombie’ members but to overcome this all you have to do is write a compelling subject line in your emails. Your emails should be quick and to the point and encourage people to click on the link. Subject lines that have worked really well for me include ‘Bad News’, ‘Warning’, ‘I need your help’, and ‘Too late’. These subject lines compell people to find out more and open your email. Now, your email should be quick and to the point and relate to the subject line.

I receive new subscribers every single day from this method and I’m sure you can to. Make sure you are sending them to your very own squeeze page instead of trying to make affiliate referrals; it just makes much more sense to get affiliate referrals from people when they are on your list.
